Lauren Gambino is a journalist and multimedia producer based in New York City where she currently works at the Guardian.
She has experience covering a range of issues and topics including international affairs, immigration, women's rights, racial division, gun control, education, public policy and state government.
Most recently, she covered Oregon's 2013 Legislative session as a statehouse reporter for The Associated Press.
A Fulbright scholar, Lauren earned her master's degree in journalism from the London College of Communication.
In London, she had the opportunity to undercover-report for the BBC's current affairs program Panorama, report on breaking international news for The Daily Telegraph and work on feature stories for The Observer.
She holds a combined Bachelor's and Master's degree from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University.
At Cronkite, she worked as a legislative reporter for Cronkite News Service, a university-based wire service delivering content to newspapers throughout Arizona and other states.
Lauren also participated in the Carnegie-Knight News21 initiative for investigative reporting. She won a Hearst Award for her investigation into a federal program that prosecutes illegal immigrants before deporting them.
